La Marchesa: typical restaurant of the Italian countryside in Monferrato, Piedmont

The Marchesa farmhouse has a typical restaurant of the Italian countryside. The restaurant is located in the Monferrato, in the heart of Piedmont. Is open to the public and offers a zero-kilometer cuisine for food and wine lovers: the specification, which we strictly follow, provides that 85% of the products used are produced by us or by local farms.

Typical Piedmontese restaurant

La Marchesa is a typical Piedmontese restaurant and we are proud to use the ancient recipes of the territory with passion.

We make peasant bread with our whole wheat.
With the same whole wheat, in addition to seasonal vegetables, we produce homemade pasta in various colors, made with La Monferrina, “the Ferrari of pasta making machines”.

Our vegetable garden offers us vegetables in quantity: potatoes, tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, spinach, aromatic herbs.
Tomatoes become splendid tomato sauce and seasonal vegetables, cooked according to ancient recipes of the region, such as “rabattoni” are transformed into tasty dishes.

The restaurant is full of the charm of an historic house, with vaulted ceilings of bricks and wooden beams.

The wine

All wines come from our vineyards:

Gavi, the great Piedmontese white wine with a fruity scent in contrast with the dry background.

Monferrato Rosso, on two different blends with 33% or 50% of Albarossa, without wood, soft, fragrant and with great structure can also be a summer wine.

Albarossa Piemonte, the latest born, paired with Pelaverga, with the characteristic scent of black pepper, in a unique blend of two Piedmontese native vines.

The wines of the restaurant all come from proprietary vineyards, are grown in compliance with the EU regulations and have a low total sulphite content: less than 100mg / lit, allowed for organic wines.
Our wines are therefore an absolute guarantee against headaches and reflect the standards of environmental sustainability.

The oil

The extra virgin olive oil comes from the olive grove owned by our sister company, the Pietra Porzia Estate in Frascati.

It is an oil with very low acidity, very fragrant, rich in antioxidant polyphenols, obtained by cold pressing in our mill.

Our vegetable garden and our orchard

Divided into two distinct plots for a total of almost one hectare, our vegetable garden is cultivated with all sorts of plants intended solely for the consumption of the farm: potatoes, tomatoes fresh and for sauce, courgettes in uncommon particular varieties, traditional aubergines and white, spinach, vegetables of all kinds.

In the orchard we grow apricots, peaches, plums, cherries, apples, walnuts, pomegranates and aromatic herbs always used for jams and the farm’s kitchen.

Restaurant for italian weddings

If you dream of an Italian wedding you can reserve the Gavi room of the restaurant: a perfect location for weddings and receptions in an elegant setting immersed in the Piedmont countryside..

The hall, open on both sides of the garden with spectacular views, is an ideal venue for weddings, baptisms, communions, parties, business meetings.
The maximum capacity is 130 people, to whom we offer special wedding menus created using always local products.

Travel stop

The restaurant can also be an ideal stop for those traveling towards the sea, from the east and west coasts to the Cinque Terre or for those who spend the weekend in the Langhe, in the Monferrato or simply in the Gavi hills.

Given the distance of only 4 kilometers, La Marchesa is a restaurant very close to the Outlet of Serravalle: is perfect for those who, after the weekend shopping, want to have lunch in the countryside away from traffic and crowds, enjoying the typical dishes of the Piedmontese cucina.
