The Marchesa Estate – Our wines: Gavi, Sparkling and Reds from native grapes

The management strategy for Marchesa wines is summarized in three fundamental points: environmental sustainability, low sulfite wines, natural aromas of autochthonous vines not altered by those of barrique wood.

We also prepare gift boxes with all our bottles.

A model of total sustainability

Our vineyards are managed according to a model of total sustainability linked to the landscape protection, entirely bound, to the architectural structure of the winery, harmonized with the historical house at the center of the Estate, to the cultivation of vineyards according to EU standards of minimal environmental impact, to the use of regularly employed local labor, to the parameters of wines lower than established for organic wines, as regards sulphites.

To achieve these results, the Marchesa vineyards, 58 hectares with a single body around the winery, are cultivated with micorizze, in order to obtain musts with more antioxidant power.
The grapes are harvested and pressed within 30 minutes, without the addition of sulphites.
All the vinification is in steel at a controlled temperature both for the whites and for the reds, in order to obtain the natural perfumes of the vine at the highest level without wooden passages.

Total sulphites are less than 100 mg / liter, compared to 150 for organic wines and 200 for normal white wines.
This means no headaches and no allergies!

Wines obtained from native vines

The vineyards are all in the high hills open to the Mediterranean breezes. All the wines of La Marchesa come from the vineyards of the estate, are obtained from native vines (Cortese di Gavi, Monferrato, Albarossa, Pelaverga) and are bottled in the cellar.

The micro-oxygenation in red wines and the long aging in steel make it possible to obtain soft and structured wines with intense natural aromas typical of native vines.
