THE HISTORY

The Estate located in the heart of the Gavi district is the largest in the area,
extends over 76 hectares (188 acres) planted with the GAVI D.O.C.G wine, CHARDONNAY, BARBERA, MERLOT, ALBAROSSA.
His story started on 1750.
The Villa, landmark, was built for the marriage of a daughter of the Marques Sauli, together with the chapel, the orangerie, the Farm House. The world change, Napoleon won the battle of Marengo, the battle close to La Marchesa, after him with the industrial revolution, La Marchesa becomes the house of a richest family on the silk business. After a long decline with the Giulini family La Marchesa, revovered his splendour with the old chapel, the orangerie perfectly restaured, the italian garden, the frout garden, the ancient. Marques Sauli house trasformed in an agritourism (farmhotel), with restaurant, 12 rooms, pool; for an ideal vacation at the country. The location is even perfect for marriages, events, meeting. The Wine: the characteristic aroma and taste of these wines is influenced by two important elements. The first is the nature of the soil, a mixture of calcareous clay and sand. The second is the climate, the hot Mediterranean sunshine is tempered by cool breezes blowing from the peaks of the Appennine mountains. The aroma of the D.O.C.G. Gavi wine is world renewed for the typical contrast from a sweet perfume and a dry body. |
